IMMIGRANT PERSPECTIVE

      1 Comment on IMMIGRANT PERSPECTIVE

Overwhelming majority of immigrants – legal or illegal – are
economic immigrants. Economics and poverty may be the driving
force, but they are also trying to escape from fear. The sense of fear
comes from multiple sources:

  • Fear of not knowing where the next meal is going to come from.
  • Fear of being picked up by police or security sources.
  • Fear of their home or land being taken away without compensation.
  • Fear of being fired at will if they are lucky enough to have a job.
  • Fear of saying anything negative or remotely critical against anyone
  • in power.
  • Fear of his/her family being “punished” for whatever he/she is
  • accused of doing wrong.

Sadly, the actions of ICE (Immigration and Customs
Enforcement Agency) have brought back that fear among all
immigrants:

  • Being confronted by a masked man.
  • Being separated from family.
  • Being sent to a “third” country with no connection or affiliation.

IS THIS THE SAME USA OF GEORGE WASHINGTON, JAMES
MADISON, THOMAS JEFFERSON, ABRAHAM LINCOLN, FRANKLIN
ROOSEVELT, JOHN KENNEDY, LYNDON JOHNSON, RONALD
REAGAN, AND BARRACK OBAMA?

Illegal Aliens are being sent back to their home country where they’re a citizen of. Or any other country that will accept them as a refugee or a permanent resident. I am dealing with the Asylum seekers everyday…
